Do you have a store and what are your opening hours?
Yes, we have a beautiful store, we’re located in the Hardwick Building, Shop 18, 459 Sydney Road, Brunswick and are open 10am – 4pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am-2pm on Saturdays.

How do I place an order?
You can place an order online, over the phone or in person at our store.

How do I order online?
To order a cake from our online shopping cart, once you have found the cake you would like, select the serves you require from the drop down bar then click on add to cart. You can add multiple cakes or just the one cake, once you have added the cake/s you want to your shopping cart, you click on check out. Please enter the personal details requested, this is for your invoice only and will not be given to any third parties.  It will then direct you to a secure Paypal screen where you can pay with your Paypal account or enter your credit card information. Orders online will be processed within 24-48 hours, If you do not receive confirmation, please call us so that we may rectify any problems which may have occurred. When you order a cake online, the associated costs may change due to the different flavours, decorative and delivery options that you are able to choose from. If the charges vary in any way, you will be contacted by a Jessicakes representative and informed promptly. For custom made cakes and special orders please contact us.

How long in advance do I need to order?
We recommend you order your cake with as much notice as possible, both for your convenience and to avoid disappointment. For wedding cakes three or more months notice is preferred and for other special occasion cakes the minimum amount of notice required for most cakes is 10 days. Cakes can sometimes be done quicker than this, depending on the cake and serving size that you require. Please call us to discuss, as we will always try to accommodate you if we can.

Do I have to leave a deposit when I order a cake?
Your order is not processed until a deposit of at least 50% has been made. Of course for convenience, you can choose to pay the cake in full, this is especially practical for online orders and cakes that are being delivered. You can pay for your cake on our website by using our shopping cart and PAYPAL function, over the phone by credit card, online using direct bank transfer or in store. The balance on cakes which are being delivered need to be paid at least two weeks before the delivery date and the balance of cakes being picked up can be paid on the day.

If I send an email when should I expect a response?
We will endeavor to reply to emails within 24 hours, however sometimes this is not possible due to a large volume of emails or work in the store. If you need an urgent answer, please call us on 9380 1777.

What price does a cake start from?
At Jessicakes we do not mass produce batches of several cakes that are the same, at Jessicakes no two cakes are ever the same. They are specially made to suit what our customers want and are all hand made with love. Cupcakes start from $3 each and birthday cakes start from about $200 each. Cakes are priced according to design; therefore simple cakes are less expensive than more detailed cakes.

What are the serving size options?
Your cake from Jessicakes can be made in a size to suit the number of guests you are expecting at your special occasion.  When a cake cannot be made smaller without compromising your chosen design, tiers made of polystyrene can be added.  When you need additional serves, a cutting cake can be made which is a separate plain iced cake which can supplement the number of serves you require. When we talk about cake serves, we refer to the number of portions you will get from a cake depending on whether you cut large dessert serves (approximately 2.5cm x 5cm x 8cm) or smaller coffee serves ( approximately 2.5cm x 2.5cm x 8cm). Dessert serves are double the size of coffee serves. Serves given are an approximate guide only as it ultimately depends on the size of the portions cut.

Can I change the colours or decorations on a cake design?
Of course you can! You can change the colours and most design features on any of the cakes, in fact we could create a whole new cake for you depending on your theme or colour scheme.

How do I transport my cake, and is delivery an option?
The cake should be kept as flat as possible while it is being transported; it may surprise you, but the boot of your car is normally the flattest and safest way to transport your cake. If the cake is small, it could also go on the floor in front of the front seat. Jessicakes does not recommend you put the cake on the backseat or that you have someone hold the cake on their lap. If you are ordering a 3D cake or a multi-tiered cake, you may need a car with a higher boot space, such as a 4wd or station wagon. At Jessicakes we take pride in the quality of our products and services. It is important to remember that cakes are a perishable and delicate product. Unfortunately once you take possession of your cake, a number of factors relating to its care and transportation may result in its quality being compromised. Jessicakes will not take responsibility for any damage incurred during transportation or storage of the cake by customers. We offer a delivery and set up service for all our cakes for a reasonable cost to ensure they arrive safely.

If I have a cake delivered what time will it arrive?
Deliveries generally occur between 10am and 4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays. We cannot guarantee delivery at a specific time and require a time frame of at least 4 hours. If your cake delivery is required within a smaller time frame, after hours or on a Sunday or Monday, there will be additional costs involved.

How do I store my cake before my special occasion?
If the cake has rolled icing or royal icing and no fresh fruit or flowers, you can store the cake at room temperature away from any sunlight.  If the cake has butter cream icing, chocolate, ganache, fresh fruit or flowers you will need to store it in the fridge.

How do I store any leftover cake?
You can keep any uneaten cake in the fridge for up to 2 weeks; store the cake in larger portions rather than cutting it into small slices as this tends to dry the cake out quicker. You can freeze any uneaten cake in slices, or in entire tiers if you want to keep your cake for longer.

What happens if I need to cancel my cake?
In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your cake order, your deposit is non-refundable. Sometimes, a credit note may be issued, however this is at management discretion.

What happens if I’m not satisfied with my cake?
Your satisfaction is of the highest importance to us. If for any reason the cake you purchased does not meet your expectations, we would like to know about it. Please keep the cake and call us or visit our store so that we can discuss your concerns and look at ways that we can rectify the situation.

What if I need to contact someone from Jessicakes after hours?
